Declaring a CS Major
If you are considering the CS major, we encourage you to come to our departmental program planning meetings (typically each semester some time in the two weeks before pre-registration for the following semester) and/or our departmental welcome events (typically near the start of each semester). Check our events page for details.
To declare Computer Science as a major, submit the online major declaration form at the link below.
You will be assigned a Barnard CS faculty member as your major adviser during the online form review process. You should meet with your newly assigned major adviser once the major declaration is complete. Before submitting the online form, you should meet with your pre-major adviser; you do not need to meet with the CS chair unless you want to. You do not need to specify a track at the time of declaration (though you can if you already know what track you plan to pursue).
If you have any questions, please e-mail the Barnard CS Administrator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
