Associate/Assistant Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience
The Neuroscience and Behavior Department at Barnard College, Columbia University, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Cognitive Neuroscience, starting in July 2020.
The position is in part supported by an endowed faculty development professorship created to recruit and retain outstanding junior faculty members. The successful candidate will establish an active, externally funded research program in cognitive neuroscience. Applicants with research programs on human cognition are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be eligible for Affiliate membership in the Zuckerman Institute – joining faculty from across Columbia University who contribute diverse perspectives to the study of mind and brain. The Zuckerman Institute is a hub for all Columbia scholars passionate about unraveling the mysteries of mind, brain, and behavior. The Affiliate Membership program enables full-time faculty to take advantage of shared resources, participate in scientific events and programming, and collaborate on research.
Teaching responsibilities are four courses per year, likely including an introductory course on Cognitive Neuroscience and lectures and upper-level seminars in an area of specialization. We are especially interested in candidates with demonstrated experience or potential for mentoring undergraduate researchers, including women and underrepresented minorities.
Ph.D. and postdoctoral experience required; teaching experience desirable. Applicants should submit a CV, cover letter, research and teaching statements, two representative publications, and the contact information for three recommendation letters.
